Parades and passing-out ceremonies
The seating is not a hall: it is a parade ground with sectors, stands and numbered rows, and there are thousands of people to place. This is the scale past which doing it by hand stops being practical, and it is the case CerimoniereWeb has been tested on most often.
Ceremonies mixing rank and office
Civil and military authorities in one hall. The first are ordered by institutional office, the second by appointment, rank and length of service: two different logics inside a single protocol.
National days and receptions
The diplomatic corps ordered by class and date of credentials, delegations by the name of the state, the dean at the head. The ordering is declared once and every ceremony that uses it inherits it.
Annual commemorations
They return each year with the same structure and almost the same authorities. Clone the previous ceremony and update whoever has been posted, promoted or replaced since.
Major events with international delegations
Foreign guests with their own parties, entering the protocol with their accompanying guests and their representatives. The opening ceremony of the 2009 World Swimming Championships in Rome was one of these.
Rank, office and appointment in one ordering
A CerimoniereWeb protocol does not order by office alone. Inside a category you can define rank-only groups, where military hierarchy applies from general officers down, and appointment groups ordered by rank, where several people holding the same appointment are placed according to the rank they carry.
When two people are still level after that, the base criteria take over: age, then alphabetical order. No seat is left undecided, and the rule that decided it can always be traced.
For a diplomatic list the same machinery does a different job. Class of head of mission becomes the category, date of presentation of credentials becomes the ordering criterion inside it, and the dean of the corps sits at the head of the list. It is configured once, during onboarding, from the practice your mission follows.
Email invitations, with proxies and accompanying guests
Invitations go out by email, and each guest receives a personal link to the invitation portal. From there they accept or decline, name the people coming with them, and appoint a representative when they cannot attend themselves.
They do not need an account: the link works for that invitation only. The reply reaches CerimoniereWeb while the guest is giving it, so the secretariat watches the hall update instead of rebuilding it from phone calls. And when a guest sends a proxy, the seat stays the one the represented office is entitled to, not the one the person arriving would have.
Anyone who prefers the telephone carries on: the Recall role follows the state of every invitation, confirmed, declined or awaiting reply.
At the scale of thousands of guests
On a parade the seating is not a hall: it is a ground with sectors, stands and numbered rows. The plan is drawn once, seats are numbered outwards from the place of honour, and from there the arrangement is automatic.
At the entrance, the check-in app tells each steward where to seat whoever presents themselves, reads the invitations by QR code, and keeps count of attendance while the ground fills.
